Industrial bedroom in an elegant edition

09 of November '22

The interior of the Architaste studio project combines industrial style with coziness. The bedroom was decorated in subdued colors, but there is no lack of a bit of craziness and a colorful element.

The project is located in the Wola Justowska district of Cracow. The area of this 125-square-meter apartment is the result of combining two smaller adjoining apartments. The apartment has been divided into two zones. The living zone includes an entrance hall, living room with dining room, kitchen, bathroom and guest room. The private zone is a spacious bedroom with a walk-in closet, a study, a laundry room and a bathroom. The two zones are connected by a long, yet, thanks to the use of dark color, pleasant and atmospheric corridor.

Subdued colors with a touch of madness

The whole room is kept in gray-black tones. The only element that breaks out of this color palette is the chaise longue. This furniture creates a pleasant corner for relaxation. Wood also appears in the bedroom, kept in warm, neutral tones. Two bedside tables, the seat in front of the bed and the sliding front door are made of oak fornite.

New function

The spacious bedroom was originally intended to house the living room. Meanwhile, the adjacent closet was once planned as a kitchen. The only room that has not changed its original function is the bathroom, so we have direct access to it from the bedroom. The entrance to the bathroom is behind a minimalist door painted the same anthracite color as the wall. Thanks to this and the abandonment of the standard door frame, the door is somehow "hidden", forming a single plane with the wall.

Impressive bed

The layout of the bedroom itself is very simple. There is not much furniture in it. This was achieved by separating a separate dressing room. The main piece of furniture is a large upholstered bed with a high headboard and a steel frame. The whole room was custom-made. The bed is finished with a seat. It fills the bedroom space and divides it into two zones. The bedroom zone, which includes the bed and bedside tables, and the relaxation zone, which includes a large comfortable chaise longue.

Multiple sources of light

Light plays a very important role in this room. Here we find, three types of lighting, and each of them has a different function. The main light in the form of a track with L-shaped spotlights is a very simple and functional solution. It is possible to change the number and position of the spotlights, as well as the angle of the light. Traditional bedside lamps, usually standing on both sides of the bed, have been replaced by pendant lamps. Their height can be adjusted and customized. The function of mood lighting is performed by a group of five lamps forming a kind of constellation. Each of the fixtures has a different geometric form. They are united by the same pleasant and warm source of light coming from a classic bulb.

Wrapping fabrics

Thanks to the use of very thick curtains, even in the morning there is a pleasant twilight in the bedroom. In order to comfortably operate such large curtains, electric curtain rods were used. An interesting material can also be found on the upholstery used for the bed and headboard. The black, slightly glossy material gives the interior a cozy and elegant feel.
