What's more, this trend suits both classic and modern interiors. How to paint the ceiling with color? Impressive metamorphosis step by step
Painting the ceiling in a color other than white is one of the easiest ways to make a spectacular interior metamorphosis - striking, yet doable on your own. However, before you reach for the roller, properly prepare the surface. The ceiling should be thoroughly cleaned of dust, dirt and any traces of old paint. The next step is priming, which is crucial for durability and even coverage, especially on new or absorbent substrates. For a more decorative effect, you may want to consider additional accents such as stucco, decorative moldings or rosettes, which should be attached even before painting.

After such preparation of the ceiling, you can proceed to painting. The paint should first be mixed thoroughly, and then make cutoffs in the corners with a small brush or narrow roller. The rest of the surface is covered with a wide roller on a telescopic handle, guiding it with overlapping strips. It is important to paint the first layer parallel to the window, and the second - perpendicular, which helps to minimize the visibility of streaks and even out the surface. After applying the first layer of paint to the ceiling, wait for it to dry completely. This time depends on the type of paint, the humidity and the temperature in the room, but is usually between 2 and 4 hours. Usually two coats of paint should be applied, especially if the color is darker. Once the paint is dry, check the ceiling again carefully to see if it needs additional leveling. If everything is in order, painting can be considered complete.
