Malwina Konopacka has occupied an important place in the landscape of Polish design for more than a decade. Her works are distinguished by a synthetic language of form, expressive color combinations and consistency in building the author's visual universe. Her recognition came with the OKO vase, presented at Tokyo Design Days in 2014. This project launched the OKO ceramic family and became a reference point for the artist's subsequent realizations. The VOYAGE collection is a natural continuation of this path, but at the same time a clear opening to a new medium. Konopacka transfers her motifs from ceramics to the surface of wool carpets and kilims, entering into a dialogue with a matter with completely different properties. Instead of the sheen of glaze, a matte fiber structure appears, instead of an object - a vast, horizontal composition.

From ceramics to wool - translation of OKO, NANA and IRENA motifs.
In VOYAGE, the OKO, NANA and IRENA motifs familiar from earlier projects return. However, they are not a mechanical repetition of ceramic designs. They have been transformed to correspond to the logic of hand-weaving. The modernist rhythm, characteristic of Konopacka's work, has been preserved, but has gained a new scale and dynamics. The fabric forces a different way of thinking about composition. The pattern is no longer enclosed in the outline of a vase or dish, but extends in space, co-creating the architecture of the interior. Lines and patches of color organize the floor and, by extension, the entire room. This shift of emphasis from the object to the space is one of the key elements of this collection.

New Zealand wool - quality and craftsmanship
The collection includes eleven lines of rugs and kilims made from 100 percent New Zealand wool. The choice of this wool determines both the durability of the product and its performance characteristics. It is characterized by resilience, resistance to deformation and natural thermal insulation properties. It brings physical comfort to the interior, while building a sense of visual stability. The hand-weaving emphasizes the artisanal dimension of the design.

In times dominated by mass production, a return to manual techniques takes on special significance. VOYAGE is part of the trend of conscious design, in which the quality of the material and the manufacturing process are as important as the aesthetic concept.

Cities as a map of imagination - Rome, Berlin, Warsaw, Tokyo
VOYAGE is also a story about travel. Each of the eleven lines is named after a city important to the artist and her creative world: Rome, Marseille, Paris, Rio, Florence, Berlin, Warsaw, London, Tokyo, Oslo and Gdynia. The names set an interpretative context, suggest the direction of associations, but do not impose unambiguous readings. A journey in Konopacka's view is not just moving between points on a map. It is also a journey through forms, colors and visual experiences. The subdued color scheme of the collection was not directly transferred from the artist's earlier works. Expressive compositions coexist with an economical color palette, allowing the rugs to function both as a dominant feature of a space and as a structural complement to it.

Art on the floor - carpet as an artistic statement
VOYAGE sits at the intersection of art and functionality. The carpet ceases to be a neutral background and becomes an element that actively shapes the interior. In this sense, the collection is part of a broader process of redefining the role of fabric in contemporary design. Konopacka's project shows that a unique artistic language can be transferred to everyday experience without losing its identity. The design here is not an add-on - it is an integral part of the concept. The home becomes a space where art functions not on the wall, but underfoot, in direct contact with the user.

VOYAGE collection premiere - when and where to buy?
The VOYAGE collection will be available for sale from March 3, 2026 on the Carpets & More brand's website. VOYAGE is a project that expands the field of Malwina Konopacka and at the same time strengthens the position of Polish design in the floor fabrics segment. The transfer of characteristic motifs from ceramics to wool is not a formal procedure, but a thoughtful translation of artistic language into a new medium. The result is a collection that redefines the role of the carpet - as a functional element and, at the same time, as a carrier of an expressive authorial narrative.
