"10 Questions to an Interior Designer" is a series of short talks inspired by the series "10 Questions to...". This time our attention is turned to interior architects. In today's episode, Anna Baranowska and Joanna Felczuk talk about their approach to design .

Anna Baranowskaand Joanna Felczuk - graduates of the Faculty of Architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology. They run the Butterfly Studio design office. They appreciate good design, unusual solutions and interesting color combinations. They strive to make their interiors both pleasing to the eye and functional. Their mission is to design for everyone, regardless of age, background or style preferences.

1 For us, home is.

A place where we feel comfortable. Our safe base, responding to all the needs of the user. A space that allows us to calm down, relax, and recharge with positive energy.

2 The key to a successful interior design is.

Good communication with the investor. In order to create a tailor-made project, our clients must trust us, feel comfortable with us. This relationship is unique. We need to know the lifestyle of the residents, behaviors, dreams, so that their future home becomes a place of complete comfort for them.

3 We look for inspiration....

Literally everywhere! Art, film, travel, fashion, and sometimes the atmosphere of a place is enough. While in a particular room, we ask ourselves a lot of questions. What makes us feel good in it? What elements have been highlighted? How was the lighting and color scheme resolved? Such thoughts often occur to us when staying in hotels or showrooms.

4 In cooperation with the developer, the most important thing is....

Openness, empathy, trust and, above all, good communication.

5. our favorite design style is...

A very difficult topic! We don't seem to have one favorite style, we like to mix and match them. For that we love interiors full of colors, interesting forms and textures with retro elements.

6. the most valuable object in our house is....

It's not exactly an object, because the most valuable item in our homes is lighting. We love it when a home has the ability to adapt to the time of day, mood or occasion. Our designs are always full of different sources of light, building atmosphere, but also utilitarian, allowing us to clean the whole space well. We love hidden warm LED strands, small side lamps or pendant lights, which often, thanks to their interesting form, are also a dominant feature in a room.

7 The most common mistake in self-decoration is.

Lack of a plan. Unfortunately, when we do not have a plan and an idea for a particular room, we buy items under the influence of emotions, which do not quite fit together later. When we don't use the services offered by a designer, it's a good idea to make ourselves a moodboard, which will help systematize the ideas we have for a given space.

8 Our favorite material is.

Wood.

9. a trend that we wish would pass away already is....

We don't have such a trend. Our clients are aware that we do not try to fit into any framework. In architecture, as in fashion it is possible to fashion the same element in many different ways. The only thing we don't like is "copy, paste" interiors. In our opinion, every person is different and deserves a space where he or she will feel unique.

10 We would like, someday, to live in....

A small house overlooking the ocean.
