Interiors that are created with everyday life in mind do not need showy gestures. Their strength lies in consistency, proportions and a rhythm that harmonizes with the lives of the inhabitants. Such is the 90-square-meter apartment in Gdynia, designed by Sylwia Chojnacka and Filip Chojnacki of con studio. The project was designed for a family of three - a married couple with a daughter - and was maintained in a light, subdued color scheme, broken by distinctive color accents. Light wood and neutral surfaces create a background for stronger elements, which bring a balance of calm and expression to the space.

Subdued base and expressive accents

The design is based on the juxtaposition of subtle, light tones with more pronounced colors. Neutral walls and surfaces were juxtaposed with warmer shades of wood, giving the interior softness and cohesion. Distinctive accents have been introduced - brick built-ins, geometric tiles in the entrance area and greenery in the bathroom. These elements not only enliven the space, but also organize it visually, delineating individual zones. Thanks to this, the whole retains a lightness, remaining open to changes and individual interpretations.

A space open to life

The apartment's layout has been planned to match the rhythm of its residents' daily life. The open living area is conducive to spending time together, and at the same time gives a sense of order and harmony. Practical solutions were used in the design to keep the space in order - one of them is a cleverly hidden pantry, which also serves as a so-called "dirty kitchen".

As a result, the living area remains aesthetically pleasing and orderly, without sacrificing the convenience of daily use. The interior is designed to easily adapt to the changing needs of the household members. The bright base provides a background for additions and decorations that can appear over time without disturbing the original harmony of the design.

Ceramics as an element of identity

An important point of the project was to take into account the investor's passion for ceramics. In the apartment there was a place to display her own works, which are an integral element of the space. Ceramics bring an individual character to the interior and emphasize the personal dimension of the project. Each of the exhibited objects creates a coherent whole with its surroundings - it not only decorates, but also defines the identity of the place.

Balance between function and emotion

The apartment in Gdynia was designed with attention to the balance between functionality and mood. The light color scheme, broken by stronger accents, creates an impression of spaciousness and warmth at the same time. Wood introduces a natural rhythm and friendly atmosphere, while neutral surfaces emphasize the calm character of the interior.

The result is a space that is at once open and orderly, balanced and full of energy. Each element has its justification - both in terms of aesthetics and utility.

A place of everyday life

The whole is kept in a warm, homey atmosphere. The designers made sure that the interior was conducive to spending time together, but at the same time allowed each member of the household to find his or her own fragment of silence and breath. The space is open, and at the same time intimate - ready to welcome changes, grow and adapt to the rhythm of the family's life. It is an interior that does not impose itself with form. It remains a background for everyday life, creating a framework in which the personal story of its inhabitants can play out.
