Interior with black and wood

22 of June '22

This interior was furnished with a single occupant in mind. The most important thing was to create a spacious living area composed of several interior parts. The project of interior design studio KODO is an interesting solution for those looking for a way to combine wood with black.

The investor was primarily interested in creating cozy interiors while maintaining a large space. In addition to a special corner for watching TV, there was also to be a reading area. The choice of materials is also not accidental - a combination of black and wood.

The work began by changing the layout of the rooms. The kitchenette was enlarged by eliminating the pantry. One room was given up in favor of enlarging the study. The main bathroom was also enlarged by giving up a room next to the bedroom. This created a transitional dressing room in the bedroom. It was important to enlarge the kitchen with a bar area - with hockers, a bar and a wine bar.

In the hallway, the decision was made to use gray tiles, striking circle-shaped lamps as well as the soft walnut color seen on the door. Here we can find a small seat upholstered with gray fabric, which goes all the way through the wall.

great common space

In the common space, a variety of functions were decided. Here we can find a sofa forming the living room space, a dining room with a simple yet interesting table with an interestingly solved leg, an openwork bookcase separating part of the space, a bar connected to the kitchen and a separate TV area.

All these spaces are united primarily by a color scheme based on blacks and wood. The furniture is mainly dominated by gray. The lamps, always solved in an interesting and original way, also attract attention.

The kitchen was divided into two parts and separated by a kitchen island combined with a bar. Part of the kitchen is kept in black colors and part is finished in wood. Between the two there is a break with a white wall.

All the rooms are directly connected, although we perfectly distinguish their functions and uses.

bathrooms

The first bathroom was organized in an interesting way. The element that creates the whole space is a mosaic of small black and gold stones, which extends from the floor to the white ceiling. The sink is mainly simple minimalism - a combination of black fittings and wood. In the shower, the decision was made to use long, narrow tiles on the floor.

The second bathroom is more classic, though equally interesting. Here it was decided to use simple gray tiles, long oblong glazed tiles and an interesting development around the bathtub in the form of geometric shapes. There is also no lack of wood here.

bedrooms

The first bedroom is primarily dominated by wood. While in most rooms there are proper proportions between black and wood, here there is an overall dominance of wood. It is a space dictated by minimalism, a gray headrest and a small bookcase for accessories and books form the whole of this interior. Next to it was located a black dressing table in a minimalist style - everything has its place here.

Here we can also find a second bedroom, probably intended for guests. Here, too, wood reigns, except that the small dressing room has been kept in a pure gray color scheme.
