Previously, we have already presented a bedroom designed by Sandra Bialkowska of the Good Layout studio. Today we visit the kitchen and dining room of a 73-square-meter apartment.

An arrangement challenge
The owners of the apartment are a young couple. The investors wanted the interior to be loft-like, with character, and at the same time warm, cozy and refined. Creating such a combination is not easy, but this was not the most difficult aspect of the project. The challenge was the developer's functional layout of the apartment, which in no way met the owners' needs. Accordingly, Sandra Białkowska moved the living area to the lower floor, while the bedroom was located upstairs. This gave the residents more privacy. However, this required not only knocking down walls, but also moving the staircase.

Soft loft
Right next to the aforementioned staircase, the dining room has been arranged. Its heart is a round black table with a matte finish. It is surrounded by chairs in a rusty shade, which introduce a hint of color. There was no shortage of decorations here either. One of the walls was lined with a textured panel that adds variety to the space. It also hangs a very large black and white photograph, which adds an artistic touch. The entire space is complemented by post-fabric-inspired lighting. Deep black and subdued grays, along with post-industrial design elements, create a strong design base. Meanwhile, the warmth of soft fabrics and natural materials breaks the austere character of the interior, creating an intriguing whole.

A climate straight out of New York apartments
The kitchenette is integrated with the dining space. The furniture made according to the architect's original design is distinguished by its purity of form. Cabinet fronts in light beige contrast with warm wood and black accessories, such as the faucet and handles. The kitchen island, finished with a wooden top, invites you to cook and talk together, offering space at stylish hockers with black minimalist frames. The floor, meanwhile, features a bold mosaic in a geometric pattern that enlivens the subdued color scheme. Dark woods and accessories with curvy, rounded shapes inspired by nature build a cozy yet refined atmosphere here.
