When creating the "House with a Box" project , Pawel Naduk of 77 Studio of Architecture made it a priority to create a private, intimate space in a dense development. The 270-square-meter building was designed so that its space opens inward, providing residents with a sense of comfort and isolation from their surroundings.

A project that attracts attention

The house was realized right next to the " Obverse and Reverse"building and is part of a complex of four single-family houses. The form ofthe building is simple and geometric, which emphasizes the contemporary character of the project. The dominant color scheme is shades of gray, which give the building a subdued, elegant appearance. Large glazing was used on the first floor, which not only opens the interiors to the garden, but also lets in a large amount of natural light. "House with a Box" is a harmonious combination of the rawness of concrete, the lightness of glass and the subtlety of openwork mesh. The design effectively combines aesthetics with functionality, providing residents with both openness to the surrounding space and a sense of privacy. Thanks to carefully selected materials and a well-thought-out spatial layout, the house fits perfectly into the idea of modern, comfortable living in a densely built environment.

Original body

The most characteristic element of the house is the transparent cube of the first floor suspended above the concrete base. It is this that gives the building its individual character and makes it stand out from other modern realizations. This "box" was designed as a strong visual accent, which breaks the strict geometric body of the house, giving it a dynamic expression. This "box" hides loggias belonging to the rooms. Thanks to this solution, it was possible to optimize the use of space while maintaining a minimalist, elegant design. The facade of the cube was finished with an openwork grid, which has both an aesthetic and practical function. It provides residents with a sense of privacy, limiting the view from the outside, while allowing light to pass through to the interior. The structure of this facade resembles a delicate curtain, which adds lightness to the massive body of the building.

Glazing and light

Glazing here performs not only an aesthetic function, but, above all, is the foundation of the concept of an open and interpenetrating space. The concave corner glazings of the first floor play a key role in shaping the character of the building - on the one hand, they define the representative entrance, and on the other, they create an intimate, sheltered garden, which remains an integral part of the entire architectural composition. Such a solution not only enriches the body of the building with additional dynamics, but also makes the space of the house melt with the environment, instead of being a clearly separated structure from it.

Fully retractable glass walls allow the interior and exterior to blend seamlessly. On sunny days, the living space can almost literally open up to the garden and terrace, providing residents with exceptional comfort. The open structure not only provides unlimited natural light to the interior, but also allows to enjoy the view of the surrounding greenery. The use of glass in combination with wood and concrete perfectly matches the modern, minimalist character of the building. These materials create a harmonious composition that not only emphasizes the strict geometry of the block, but also softens its form, adding natural warmth. The glass panes reflect the surroundings, making the building blend in subtly with the landscape and change its appearance depending on the time of day or year.

Garage like an exhibition

The garage in the "House with Box" is not just a space for storing a car, but an integral part of the architectural concept of the building. It was designed to harmoniously blend with the body of the house, while offering maximum convenience to users. Its minimalist form and refined details make it not just a practical room, but also an aesthetic element of the whole composition. Thanks to the glass walls, a classic car is exposed in it. In this way, the owners' automotive passion has become an integral part of the house's design. The transparent structure of the garage makes the car become a kind of sculpture, emphasizing the modern character of the building, while adding a touch of retro atmosphere.

Outdoor spaces - a natural extension of the architecture of the house

The surroundings of the "House with a Box" were designed to harmoniously combine architecture and landscape. The terrace and garden here are not just an addition, but an integral part of the spatial concept, which complements the body of the building and emphasizes its modern character. Thanks to large glazing, the interior seamlessly merges with the outdoor zone, and the terrace becomes a natural extension of the rooms. Such a layout promotes free communication between the house and the garden, which makes the daily life of the residents take place both indoors and outdoors. The terrace has been carefully planned in terms of functionality. It can serve as both a resting space and a dining or recreational area. The natural materials used to create it, such as wood and stone, harmonize with the raw body of the building, while giving it a more friendly, organic character. An important part of the design of the outdoor space is also comfortable garden furniture, which corresponds to the style of the house and its surroundings. The whole is complemented by lighting elements and pots that build a pleasant atmosphere. Thanks to the careful combination of architecture, terrace and garden, "House with Box" becomes a place where modern design meets the comfort of everyday life. Outdoor spaces not only emphasize the unique character of the body of the building, but also create ideal conditions for relaxation and spending time outdoors.
